Silvije Glojnarić: Četiri lica jazza / Four Faces of Jazz
Glojnarić, Silvije
About the release
Before you is the CD Four Faces of Jazz, bearing the signature of conductor, composer, arranger, and drummer Silvije Glojnarić — a release which, through its publication, becomes a historical branch on the family tree of world jazz.
Musicians like Silvije are rare: rather than choosing a rapid ascent within the safety of predictable musical genres, he devoted decades to work beyond such boundaries, achieving remarkable creative breadth as an instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and bandleader. It was precisely because of this dedication — not only to jazz, but to music as a whole — that maestro Silvije Glojnarić was awarded the Porin Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, an honour bestowed upon artists whose work and expertise have left a lasting mark on Croatian music.
The works featured on this CD represent only small sparks within an oeuvre that demonstrates how jazz, like any musical genre, does not live solely through the newest trends or momentary flashes of popularity, but through continuity and tradition — essential qualities of all art forms, including jazz.
