Since 2013, an ensemble of professional musicians under the name “Projekt Lazarus” has been active on the Croatian and European music scene. Behind this unusual name lies the ensemble’s principal aim: the revitalisation of Croatian musical heritage and its contextualisation within the broader European cultural and civilisational discourse. “Projekt Lazarus” was founded within the framework of the Croatian Music Centre, and the initiator and founder of the ensemble is Robert Palić, a member of the opera ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. Research, revitalisation, promotion, and presentation of Croatian and European musical heritage are the primary goals of “Projekt Lazarus”, realised through the exploration of unknown and unprocessed musical literature, as well as those musical monuments of high artistic value that time and unfavourable historical circumstances have consigned to oblivion.

The album Crobaroque presents works by distinguished Croatian composers of the Baroque period: Damjan Nembri, Vinko Jelić, Ivan Šibenčanin, and Ivan Lukačić.
