Vokalni ansambl Brevis: Ad Futurum!
CD
About the release
“Brevis Vocal Ensemble is a choir, almost a choral movement that did not come about overnight. Establishing a women’s (girls’) choir from Osijek on both the Croatian and the international musical stage seemed an almost imposible undertaking. Nevertheless, through perseverance, dedication, and an unwavering willingness to embrace new challenges, my colleague Davor Dedić – our long-standing collaborative pianist – and I have succeeded to a remarkable extent. We are happy that this album is being released in the year of our 30th anniversary, because with its concept and musical content it shows the full artistic potential and programmatic focus of the ensemble. And for those who believe in the significance of numbers, there is yet another reason why this album could not have taken any other form: it is a recording marked by anniversaries! We are releasing it in the year in which Tomislav Uhlik celebrates his 70th birthday, Ivan Božičević his 65th, I my 50th, Bruno Vlahek his 40th, and the Brevis Vocal Ensemble its 30th anniversary. I am only stating this in case anyone still believes in coincidences.”
