Miro Buljan: Zbirka pjesama – Collection of Songs

In the Popular Melodies edition of the Croatian Composers’ Society, dozens of sheet music collections featuring hundreds of compositions were published from the 1960s to the 1980s. After a quarter of a century of dormancy, HDS and Cantus d.o.o. have relaunched this edition. The first release featured 30 songs by Đorđe Novković, and this edition features 30 hit songs by Miro Buljan.

“Miro Buljan is one of the rare Croatian producers and composers who can rightfully say he has secured international recognition for domestic pop without implementing foreign formulas: for him, the pop sound, progression, and chorus have always held true value. When listening to the catalog of his hits, the feeling does not deceive you – the harmony flows almost from the very first beat, and the arrangement – always lavish but never excessive – simultaneously gives the song an aroma of both contemporaneity and timelessness.” (Bojan Mušćet, from the introductory text)
