BRANKO LAZARIN (Blaškovec-Sv. Ivan Zelina, 1940.), composer and teacher, graduated in composition in the class of Stjepan Šulek at the Zagreb Music Academy and improved with Milko Keleman in Köln. He was a lecturer at the Zagreb Music Academy since 1980 and spent significant period of his work as a pedagogue in music school Pavao Markovac in Zagreb. Some of his most significant works are Passacaglia for strings and bells, Symphony, Three Essays for wind orchestra, Three Movements for saxophone, From My Diary for saxophone qurtet, Three croquis for four for clarinet in B-flat, alto saxophone in E-flat, tenor trombone, cello and piano, String Quartet, Quintet for clarinet and string quartet, Seven preludes for organ, To Virgin Mary for mixed choir to Marko Marulić’s lyrics, The Sea for mixed choir to Josip Pupačić’s lyrics, liturgical compositions etc.
